When I first started this blog I hoped it would help me get excited about cooking again (it has), I hope it would get me crafting again (it has), but I never expected to meet some really amazing people.
One of them is Emily Quinton from Makelight. My photography teacher. Before I started writing this blog I went to one of Emily's photography for bloggers courses where I learnt about photography and met loads of other great bloggers, which was amazing.
But the best thing about Emily is that she's never stopped being my teacher - all her students are part of a closed Facebook group (where I've met more lovely bloggers) and where she sets us little challenges to encourage us to take more photos and practice everything she's patiently taught us.
This month she asked asked to create an image about our inspiration. I spent weeks thinking about it, trying to decide what inspired me - was it a person, a book, and object? I found it really tough. Then I thought about what keeps me writing this blog and I realised it's my family and my home and you my lovely readers.
I write here because I want to share recipes that my little family love. I want to provide my children with a safe and cosy home (and make it pretty too) and I want to share that too. So I wanted an image that showed that, a cosy home, a happy family and a some lovely food to keep us all nourished.
So the image above encapsulates my inspiration, our kitchen table set for a simple meal, sunny, happy and home.
You can see what my fellow students are inspired by over on Emily's blog here. This weekend I happening to be going away for a weekend on the south coast with my blogging friends - lucky me. You can follow along with our adventures on instagram .
Thanks so much for reading x
