So last week I jabbered on about how great Emily's workshops are (they really are) and now I'm going to go on a tiny bit more. This past weekend I had an amazing time with lovely Emily and a group of fantastic bloggers. We stayed in a beautifully breathtaking house by the sea in East Sussex, we took pictures, we ate, we talked and we shared. It was amazing and inspiring.
I've never been away for a weekend with people I don't know all-that-well before and have such an amazing time. This thing called blogging connected us all, and it was so wonderful to sit and chat about our blogging hopes and dreams, our families, our work and our photography. All six of us have busy lives, juggling so many things and it was so amazing to take a weekend out to relax and inspire each other.
I usually come home from a weekend away feeling as if I need another two day's break, but I felt so motivated and energised. Maybe it was a weekend in a light filled and incredibly serene house with no cooking, cleaning or toys to tread on. Or maybe it was talking to six other women who get it and love blogging too.
And then of course there was the photography. It makes me so happy to see how far my photography has come. This time last year I took my first Makelight course and all I knew was to point the camera at the thing I wanted a picture off and to press the button. And now I can do all this fancy stuff and take pictures I really feel proud of.
Thank you so much to Emily and my fellow bloggers Ruth, Andri, Fatima, and another Ruth for a wonderful weekend. I can't wait to see all of your pics and to have another weekend away. Here are some of mine - I took over 300 so whittling them down was hard. So of course I'll be Instagramming even more.
